Activities Assessment Theory Course
For those with the overall responsibility of planning and delivering meaningful activities for individuals, new and fresh ideas are an important part in the consistency of the service. In this course there is an emphasis on the concept of life themes as part of the planning and implementation process. The learner will understand all aspects of the role of the coordinator and the course provides both new and existing staff a benchmark of ability.There are 5 comprehensive modules which include: Getting started, Types of activities, Planning your group, Working with Individuals and further Developing your key skills. The course uses examples, case studies, exercises and reflective questions to explore issues such as preconceptions, how to work with person centred life themes, the 4 phases of planning, working with reminiscence, opening and closing the group, using all the senses, sourcing resources and the ageing process. The course also addresses activities when working with individuals, including project work, music, craft and day trips.
